Good Morning. Congratulation and thank you to our convener DG Rionardi Wong for an impressive District Conference. My heartiest welcome to Distinguished Guest RI Representative PDG David Anderson and spouse from Australia, District Governor Lina and spouse, Future Leaders, PDGs and fellow Rotarians,

Please allow me to open my address stating the Rotary Vision:

"Together, we see a world where people unite and take action to create lasting change — across the globe, in our communities, and in ourselves."

Here I would like to highlight on 3 words: Change, Unite, and Action. Change is inevitable and necessary. The world is changing rapidly and to continue thriving in the years ahead, Rotary must evolve, District must evolve, clubs must evolve. The pace of change has accelerated, and technology has created new opportunities for connection and service.

We are a very diverse group of leaders with diverse beliefs and opinions and we should not limit ourselves with fear of change. Let’s be open-minded and patient to finding the best practices to implement. I’m certain that in Unity we will successfully embrace and apply change for the advancement of our District.

Rotary is the world's oldest and most important social service organization with more than 1,4 million members, more than 46,000 clubs spread across 200 countries with the main goal to provide humanitarian service, promote goodwill and peace throughout the world.

Rotary take action by providing clean water to those who don't have it, feeding those who are hungry, fighting polio which is crippling and debilitating, giving children the opportunity to learn, to read and to write. Rotary is all about the Act of Giving. Everybody can do good, but if we do good through The Rotary Foundation, our impact is multiplied many times over. Every act of kindness makes a difference, and no gift is too small.

There have been countless stories of Rotary changing people’s lives positively. We all have witness and experience the magic of Rotary. Let us LOOK GOOD and share our personal Rotary magic story to the world. It is our responsibility as Rotarian to consciously and intentionally be a brand ambassador of Rotary. Be proud to be a Rotarian, start with wearing your Rotary Pin and clothing.

Rotary has two main functions: to provide service to the community and the wider world of Rotary; and to promote fellowship and networking opportunities among Rotarians and make lasting friendships outside the Club, District or country. We should represent a quality character of BE GOOD: deal fairly with others, treat them with respect and place Rotary Core Values as a priority in our daily lives.

Ensuring continuity is critically important in Rotary. I am proud to say that our District has set a three-year Strategic Plan for 2022-2025 which was launched in the District Conference at Yogyakarta in Mei 2022 and officially accepted and committed by the incoming and future Governors to be executed.

Continuity of Leadership is also about acknowledging that the New Generations are our investment in the future. Let us begin to build the future today and start to mentor, coach and work together with our young generations: Rotaract, Interact, Rotary Youth Exchange, and Rotary Youth Leadership Awards.

The young generation have the ideas, the creativity and great energy to shape a better world. Let’s give the opportunity for our young generation to SHINE!

As Rotarians, we have the power to speak and share, act and execute, explain and educate, inspire and influence. If you FEEL GOOD, you will always perform your best without worrying about anything. May we continue to grow as Rotarians so that we stand in our community as a symbol of those willing to freely put service above self and make this, our community, and the world a better place to live.
